This just in…there is good beer in MN!!!
I had a discussion with my oncologist about beer intake when this whole thing began. He wanted to know how much I drank. I replied that I have not and do not plan on drinking during my cancer treatment. I told him that they were poisoning me and probably taxing my liver pretty intensely so I didn’t plan on adding fuel to the fire. He thought that was a pretty good idea.
Over my treatment I have pretty much stuck to that. I occasionally take the smaller half of Jen’s beer to see what I am missing. Luckily my taste buds have generally helped by making things like beer, wine, and coffee not taste very well. As I get closer to the next treatment this affect is not as pronounced so I enjoy a cup of coffee and have things that may not be as appetizing lately.
When some friends from Geronimo Wind sent me a care package that included a 4-pack of tall-boys from Surly Brewing Co. of Brooklyn Center, MN I had to split one with my dad. To my enjoyment there is now a good microbrew coming out of the great state of MN. If anyone in the midwest gets a chance they can now try a “local” oatmeal brown ale in the Surly Bender.
Thanks yet again, Fellas!!

Glad to hear that you & your Dad were able to enjoy one of the Minnesota brews!! Take care as you continue with your treatment.
As a loyal Mn girl who goes “home” fairly frequently Tim, I will definitely be checking the brew out! Your upbeat attitude is definitely uplifting by the way!
