Waiting For Chemo
Just sitting here waiting for my next chemo treatment. The last two weeks went better and worse than the past few. The first 7-9 days had more severe nausea, but once I felt better there was less nausea than previously.
This week we finished up the heater and receptacle rewiring of the studio. Finally a nice space for October through April rather than just the summer months. Still have the spackling and painting to do but the wiring is all set for now.
This weekend my college roommate Steve came to town to check on me. He had not seen the Portland sites so we took him into the Columbia gorge. We did two short hikes to a couple of the water falls. Luckily the weather cooperated for us.
I am still waiting for chemo to start, but they gave me word that my white blood cell count is 200. Ordinarily that is in the crapper, but it matches the number from the second chemo treatment and is 100% better than the craptastic number from last week. Hopefully we will start shortly…just did.
- Let’s Go Jen!!!
- This just in…there is good beer in MN!!!
Wonderful pictures Tim.. Hope you are getting better!! Miss your “face” around here and am looking forward to your quick recovery and return…
Tim, you make sure to keep all of us with our variety of “cooties” (yes an old person’s word) at arms length. I worry about your craptastic and only mildly craptastic WBC. BTW I am so glad we sent you to THE Ohio State University – your vocabulary has expanded exponentially since finishing engineering school. I love all of the new words you teach me!
Love those falls…with and without the bridge! I hope you’re feeling better in fewer days.
Eileen
Beautiful pictures, thanks for posting. Hope the chemo treatment gets easier! Well wishes, love and hugs from Boston! Donna and Jack
The Marrinan Men and their projects, they do a great job! Glad to hear you’re finishing a few tasks off your list. The pictures are beautiful, so nice the weather cooperated. Wishing you a good week and thanks for your stories, I love your writing. Now, we need everyone to cast their votes for Jen, its such a close competition. Go Tim! Go Jen!

The pictures are beautiful. I hope you start to feel better. When my Mom (Aunt Kay) was having treatment this old time doctor suggested Cola Syrup for her upset stomach after her treatment. She thought it worked better than the pills. Just a thought.
Feel better soon,
Carol
Caitlin and I hiked those falls when she went to University of Portland! Beautiful photos. Glad you are keeping busy! Positive thoughts sent your way!!
Amazing pictures! Hope the craptastic wbc gets better.. and for once listen to your mother (shhh don’t tell her I said that or I’m sure she will nag ya even more ;). And you better be wearing socks and shoes no sandals if its cold out! I went ahead and nagged for Nana too 😉
Hugs to you and Jen!
Congrats on getting your heater project finished! A good job done I’m sure gives you a feeling of accomplishment. And how awesome that you got to go hiking, especially at Multnomah Falls! Such a beautiful spot.
I voted for Jen every day & I sure hope she wins!!! Keeping fingers crossed 😉
